The stove was too far rusted and rotted to save. We tried but it was quickly apparent it was a losing battle.

The old unit was a built-in vintage model without legs sitting atop several inches of cement.

So the cement had to be removed to make room for a standard stove with legs.

The stove still needs to come out one more time to run a new propane line and reroute it better so that the line will come up through the floor behind the stove instead of in front of the stove where it was/ is. I suspect there is a pinhole somewhere in the line because the 20# propane bottles we have been using seems to empty a little too quickly. Not quickly enough to be concerned for safety though. I just want to put a new line and know it’s fixed properly and that it will be good for many years.

Stove in action.

One of the drawers refuses to conform…as you can see. Will have to modify it a bit…. but that’s number 387 on the list.

Actually I have a great carpenter coming out next week to have a look at the main doors, so I will mention it to him – alongside the cabinet doors that have broken hinges that I’ve been unable to locate anywhere on island or online. I’m hoping he can suggest a compatible replacement.
